The Needleslide is a quilting tool, made by hand from porcelain, worn to protect your index finger underneath the quilt. Esther Miller has developed the Needleslide to her exacting requirements.
What to expect from using a Needleslide:
- no more pricked fingertips
- much finer stitches
- ease of work
Because porcelain is fragile, the Needleslide comes with a small hole in the side wall to loop a ribbon through, enabling you to secure the Needleslide to your wrist. The inside of the Needleslide has more traction, while the outside has a better edge to greatly increase the ease and effectiveness of your work. With much time and use, you will notice signs of wear.
The Needleslide is worn on the index finger that works beneath the quilt and directs the needle upwards. This not only protects your finger from the needle's point, but also makes it possible for you to make finer stitches without sacrificing the health of your hand and wrist (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome).
Because it is porcelain, the Needleslide will not dull your needle.
All Needleslides are handmade; therefore, each one is unique. With the individuality of each tool comes the difficulty of finding the perfect fit. If you have the opportunity to visit us at a quilt show, that is the best way to try on and buy a Needleslide. Otherwise, give us a call and we will do our best to find a good fit over the phone.
If you are not satisfied with the fit once you receive your Needleslide, you may of course return it, and we will be happy to try again.
